2018 marked the 10th anniversary of Try Tri Events with an extra special Triathlon in Winchester at Kings’ School.
It all began back in September 2009 when using swimming teachers and families over 100 people took part in our very first event! The concept of Triathlon was still fairly new and this all prior to Team GB’s success in the 2012 Olympics.
10 years on and for the first time I was freed up to take part in my own event as a competitor. This had taken lots of planning and to be freed up to participate was a lovely feeling. I got to be a triathlete for the day and what fun! I have to say the Winchester event has always had comments about it being hilly but when driving in my car or cycling the route in the past I hadn’t noticed. However when you have just finished your swim and trying to put on a good show on the course the hills were getting to me! It was a beautiful day, sun was shining and as per usual the Try Tri marshals were so friendly and motivating.
Really good experience and really proud of the team for puling off such a great event.
