One of the great things about running your own business is planning how you spend your time. The bad thing about running a business is there is always more to do so finding time is difficult!
Planning to take 3 months out of the business and travel around South America was one of the best things I have done for my business and for me personally. It took 18 months of planning and quite a few sleepless nights thinking of all the worse case scenarios, but definitely well worth it.
The idea of being out of reach and on the far side of the world meant all processes had to be up to date and there would be someone with responsibility over aspect of the business.
If you don’t have the ability to physically go away for 3 months the actual task of planning what you would do is well worth doing!
